Our Community
The Mar Thoma Church traces its origins to 52 AD when St. Thomas the Apostle brought the Christian faith to Kerala, India. The tradition has been maintained unbroken for nearly two millennia — a living testament to the enduring power of the Gospel.
Our Newcastle church was founded in November 2018 with just 20 members gathering at Fletcher Community Hall. Today we are a community of approximately 100 members across 28 families. In March 2025 we were formally elevated from a congregation to a church — a milestone in our journey of faith in the Hunter Valley.
We are part of the Diocese of Malaysia–Singapore–Australia–New Zealand and offer worship in both Malayalam and English, forming a spiritual home for families across the region.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2026 Theme: Stand Firm in Christ — Philippians 4:1 Dates: Thursday 8th – Saturday 10th October 2026 Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Registration/Check-in from 8:15 AM) Location: St. Thomas Anglican Church Cardiff, 3 Thomas St, Cardiff NSW 2285 Registration Fees 1 child: $60 2 children:$120 3 children: $150 4 children: $180 Important: All children from the same family must be registered together under a single family registration. Each family should submit only one registration form. Check-In & Check-Out Policy If someone other than a parent will be dropping off or picking up a child, please complete the Authorised Guardian Form in advance. Parents/guardians must sign the check-in/check-out sheet every time a child is dropped off or picked up.
